PE5 - Electro City

I created a commercial using the skills I learned from iMovie Training with the various features of Electro City. I think it is rather funny to look at. I enjoyed making, and I plan to use it as a means to get my students excited about using Electro City for my RILS project!!

Take a look...

PE4 - Electro City

In preparation for my Relevant and Innovative Learning Scenario (RILS) project I began by looking at a Web 2.0 Interactive Simulation game called Electro City. Electro City is a platform in which students can create a energy efficient city using various energy resources and taxing citizens.

I plan to use this tool with my students to give them the opportunity to run their very own city. They can be the mayor. They can see how challenging or easy it is to make decisions that will impact not just themselves but also the people in their city.

Through my trial with the game it is easy to get caught up in runnning through the city; especially if you arent aware of how many turns you have. Once you realize each turns generates money, but also requires some additions to the city or even destruction of sites that may be harming the city.

I have to admit, I got caught up in the game. It was so intriguing that I scored a "C" on my first city. In playing this game I feel like my students will enjoying having the opportunity to be the MAYOR!!

PE3 iMovie

After watching the iMovie training I feel like I can create anything using the tool. I was so proud to have recieved my certificate of completion... yeah me!
It is my plan to use iMovie throughout the course of my CBR project as a means to make my students lessons more engaging and fun, and also as a documentary of the journey to becoming a great and motivational Science teacher!

To test my new skills I have created a One-Minute-Movie that show cases a little of what I learned. I am getting married in June of 2012 and my cousin and I went dress shopping. It was a very fun experience. I made a quick montage about our journey...

PE2 iMovie

While doing the iMovie Essential Training I learned so many new "tricks" and "treats" to help make my movies even better. I may be 28, but I have the voice of a 7 year old... sad... but true. I love my voice, don't get me wrong, but honestly I don't like how I sound once recorded. iMovie, however, allows me to voice overs in my video, and also change the way I sound. Using this tool I have learned that I can take my 2nd grade voice and make it sound like a nice well spoken man...robot... even a chipmunk! Awesome invention.
